A big benefit of taking our Flaxie Packs on the show circuit has been the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people.
Initially, I thought most of those folks would be on the other side of the counter from us…our customers and browsers…and quite a few of them are! But over the past year of doing craft shows, fairs and festivals, we’ve discovered another fascinating group of people: our fellow vendors.
It turns out that people who make things by hand, and then choose to sell them on the craft show circuit, have a real camaraderie. We understand each other in a way few others can. We know how it feels to sign up for an outdoor show a year in advance and then get rained out at the last minute with no refund. And we share the terror of putting our best creative work on the line and then just hoping (praying?) it is received respectfully and with enthusiasm. All these things and more give us a common bond that makes fast friends out of casual acquaintances practically overnight!
