What a great commercial. We know it was, because it’s stuck in our minds all these years. It has everything: a soothing song, beautiful images, a sophisticated play on words, and– most powerfully– a ring of pure truth.
There really is nothing like cotton next to the skin– 100% natural, soft and breathable– but strong and durable as iron. And after experimenting with a basketful of different kinds of materials– from satins to flannels to fleece to minky– to make our microwavable heating pad prototypes from, we learned that nothing compares with cotton for holding temperature either. (If you would iron it on high, it’s good in the microwave.)
